Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds
We understand the importance of healthy bodies and minds and how vital it is to eat the right food for growth and development. We promote a balanced attitude to nutrition, understanding the need for an occasional treat as well as an abundance of fresh produce, supporting a balanced diet – everything in moderation.
Meal times at Rosehill Day Nursery are a happy, social occasion which provide an ideal opportunity to help every child eat well, enjoy a varied diet and establish healthy eating habits for life.
Staff ensure good table manners and behaviour consistently across the age ranges to take with them into their school years, role modelling and encouraging the children to say ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’.

From Garden to Plate
Staff engage at meal times discussing different ingredients, where they come from and how they are grown, in order to widen and develop the children’s knowledge.
In our nursery garden, we have numerous vegetable plots, where the children will plant, care for and watch their produce grow and then proudly enjoy eating their home grown, organic fruit and vegetables.
Children have access to fresh drinking water at all times throughout the day and are encouraged to make themselves at home and help themselves.
Rosehill Day Nursery understand that parents lead busy lives, therefore just like we supply nappies, we also provide the formula milk of your choice included within the fees.
After lunch and tea, children clean their teeth as we follow the ‘Smile 4 Life’ programme and promote healthy dental habits.
Carefully Planned Meals
Our highly trained staff are aware and respect all allergies, medical and cultural differences in eating habits, ensuring similar alternatives are available for those who need it. Special dietary requirements & weaning babies are also catered for, we encourage communication with parents to identify their personal needs and will always do our upmost to accommodate them.
Our menus follow and exceed the national best practice. Full tummies make us happy, every meal is carefully planned, homemade from scratch, using the highest quality local produce all while supporting our local suppliers. They are on a four week rotation and change with the seasons.
We adhere to the Food Standards Agency, Food Safety and Hygiene Regulation and have been awarded a 5* Food Hygiene Rating. Meals and snacks are prepared in our purpose built kitchen on site by qualified staff with Food Hygiene Certificates.
